My family supports SMSRF because without funding for research, there is no possibility of a treatment to help those who have SMS lead a calmer, more productive life. Not only will finding a viable treatment for these kiddos help them, it will also help the families — giving them hope that relief is in sight. Being an “orphan syndrome” SMS is not funded like other syndromes, therefore, any funds and research is a step in the right direction for a better quality of life to everyone affected by SMS.
